Popular science lecture
Orla Doherty
A television producer in her twenties, Orla fell in love with the ocean on her 30th birthday when she put a scuba-tank on her back and a regulator in her mouth for the first time. She joined an expedition in the Pacific Ocean for a decade, leading a coral reef research programme to some of the most remote reefs on Earth. When she eventually returned to land, she joined the BBC´s Natural History Unit to develop Blue Planet II, and then went on to produce two episodes: The Deep and Our Blue Planet.
